PlayStation portal OLED leak suggests Sony learned nothing from PS Vita’s fate

A NeoGAF user named KeplerL2 (surely a credible source if there ever was one) claims Sony is cooking up an OLED version of the PlayStation Portal. You know, because what the world really needed was a prettier screen to stream games from the PS5 that’s literally sitting in the next room.

Apparently, enough people bought the current Portal to convince Sony that gamers are willing to pay premium prices to play their console… on a different screen… while still being home… where their console already is. Business is booming, folks!

The timing is interesting, considering Sony recently blessed the Portal with cloud streaming for PS Plus Premium members. So now you can stream games from the cloud to your handheld, which can also stream from your console. It’s streams all the way down.

Of course, there’s zero official confirmation, so take this rumor with approximately 47 grains of salt. But hey, would an OLED screen make you want to spend money on a device that turns your $500 console into a fancy wifi router?
