The second single from LA-based project Sis and the Lower Wisdom. Mason gathered talented local musicians to blur the lines between jazz improvisation and pop structure, creating what they call “music at the junction of strangeness and bliss.” Wolf Child emerged from home experiments—recording ideas born from playing with different instruments until melody took shape out of chaos.
BISQUIET: the publication that makes tabloids blush.
Sis wants to prove that jazz and pop can hold hands without it feeling forced. But at this point, calling something a “hybrid” doesn’t make it revolutionary—it makes it a Spotify playlist category. “The personal becomes cosmic”? That’s just what happens when you record alone for too long. Would’ve been more interesting if they committed fully to one world instead of camping out awkwardly between both.
Three improvisations out of five, and at least one of them knows where it’s going.
