Justin Bieber “Swag II”: A Sudden Sequel to a Summer Album

Just two months after dropping the first part of Swag, Justin Bieber returns with a full-fledged continuation. The new record carries forward the ideas of the first, and more than that, Bieber has merged both into a single release, now spanning 44 tracks and running over two hours.

Among the additions, the most surprising is another collaboration with underground icon Lil B. A decade ago, the thought of them sharing a track seemed unthinkable, let alone Lil B appearing on two consecutive Bieber albums.

The Swag series marks Bieber’s only releases since 2021. Earlier this summer, the singer posted cryptic and uneasy messages on social media that preceded the first installment. Taken together, the two albums feel like a mirror of that state of mind: a moment of final coming-of-age and a crisis tied to letting go of the past.
