Retrofuturistic Sequel: Atomic Heart 2 Unveils New Characters and Expanded World

Alright, folks, buckle up! Mundfish just rolled out the red carpet for Atomic Heart 2 at this year’s Summer Game Fest, and let me tell you it looks absolutely insane. The trailer? Visually bonkers, with that same retrofuturistic Soviet vibe we loved from the first game, but now on a whole new level.

So what’s new?
Well, for starters, the world’s gone global. We’re talking fresh locations, living environments, and a story that’s bigger, badder, and way more mysterious. The sequel picks up where the original left off, but now you’ll be rubbing shoulders (and maybe swinging wrenches) with both returning characters and some new faces. Each one’s got their own story, and they’re all tangled up in a plot that’s somehow even more gripping than before.

Gameplay-wise, Atomic Heart 2 is stepping it up big time. Combat’s been beefed up with dual-wielding (yes, you can finally go full Wolverine), a wider arsenal of melee and ranged weapons, and way more freedom to explore. The devs are promising an action-RPG experience that’s more immersive and choice-driven than ever. And let’s talk visuals. The game looks sharper, more realistic, and somehow even more dystopian. If you loved the original’s quirky, dark humor, you’ll be happy to hear that vibe’s not going anywhere, it’s just getting bigger and weirder.

Now, the big question
when’s it coming out?
No official date yet, but word on the street is we might be looking at a 2026 launch for PC and consoles. Oh, and in case you haven’t heard, Mundfish is also working on a spin-off called The CUBE, a multiplayer RPG shooter set in the same universe. The franchise is expanding, and I’m here for it. Fans of the original are already hyped, and if you’re new to the series, now’s the perfect time to jump in.

Atomic Heart 2 is shaping up to be bigger, bolder, and way more immersive than the first game. If you’re into action, RPGs, or just really weird Soviet robots, mark this one on your wishlist. What do you think are you ready to go back into the Atomic Heart world?
